What type of engine oil should be used, and how often does Saturn recommend the oil be changed?

0

Saturn recommends using oil that has been certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) for gasoline engines. API certified oil can be identified by a “star burst” symbol on the front of the container. Do not use any oil that doesn’t carry this symbol. SAE 5W30 viscosity oil is the best for your vehicle in most weather conditions. However, you can use SAE 10W30 if you operate your car a majority of the time in temperatures above 20 degrees (Fahrenheit) or -7 degrees (Celsius). Do not use other viscosity oils. Saturn recommends changing the oil and filter every three months or 3,000 miles — whichever comes first — for most driving conditions.
