What type of encryption does the MOM use?
The MOM applies two types of encryptions: • Backup data Encryption – It is carried out by a symmetric 128 bit encryption code (AES, TripleDES,TwoFish). Not available for 256 bits, as it requires too much CPU and it is not really necessary. (At present most banks use 128 bit encryption). • Backup traffic Encryption – It is carried out by a symmetric 128 bit public encryption. The value of the encryption depends on the code size used to generate the CSR.
