What type of education do Acupuncturists have?
Acupuncturists undergo an extensive program in education. All NJ Licensed Acupuncturist must have a four year undergraduate degree and must complete a three to four year program from an accredited school in acupuncture and oriental medicine. The education is a Master of Science program and Acupuncturists study extensively about physiology and pathology in both Western and Eastern terms. Licensure and certification is determined by national certification examinations as well as state examinations. Many Acupuncturists also study extensively about Chinese Herbal Formulations and have a certification in Herbology.
