What type of drivers license do you need to tow a 4 horse trailier?
Every state will have a different thing put on your drivers license. When you first get licensed, you will be class C in California for example. I think here in Oklahoma it is class D. You can drive any motor vehicle and tow a horse trailer (whether diesel/gas vehicle) and whether single horse bumper pull or ….lets say a 4 horse gooseneck living quarters. You can not drive any two motorized vehicle (motorcycle) unless you go through that training and proper motorcycle license. However you can use your normal vehicle driver’s license, class C, if it is a Trik or a quad, etc. (Anything that is four wheels on city roads). If you advertise or get paid for trailing other people’s horses, you are required to have a different type of license (it slips my mind which type it is), and insurance coverage.
A regular drivers license is all you need. Class C in most states. You need a CDL if you drive a truck/trailer with air brakes. Here is some detailed info. – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver%27s_…
