What type of cooperative relationships exist between the Hadassah Medical Organization and other countries?
Through the years the Hadassah Medical Organizations professional outreach has extended itself to over 112 nations. At its Jerusalem hospitals, some 28,000 foreign health professionals have been trained in specialties that include treatment of eye disease, AIDS education, pre-and post-natal care, and public health. In Africa, the Hadassah Medical Organization has sent doctors and nurses to help build and staff clinics in remote regions, and has taken mobile healthcare units into the bush, performing surgery that has restored the eyesight of an estimated one million Africans. The Hadassah Medical Organization has also been involved in running cooperative projects worldwide. Some of these projects have ranged from providing primary healthcare in an impoverished Bangkok neighborhood, to teaching and advising Japanese medical professionals on creating a hospice program, to helping establish a trauma center in Argentina.
