Wired is always more reliable than wireless and tends to be faster too. Get a WiFi router and then you can have the best of both Worlds – you can test your PC with both and decide for yourself. Wireless will be affected by the area your router and PC are both in. You may find dead spots in your house for instance, or interference from other WiFi systems in the same proximity. As far as your ISP is concerned, if you are in a cable area and don’t mind only being able to use video streaming for just over an hour a day (like BBC iPlayer for example) then that’s the way to go. If you like watching TV on your PC, stay away from them. This is a bit of area of contention in the UK at the moment as no ISP’s really give the correct speeds they supply, if anyone says otherwise, they work for the company. Virgin themselves (cable) offer the apparently quickest broadband, but it’s severely traffic shaped so you never know what speed you’ll get, let alone whether it will work fast when you need it t
