What type of coding is used on the pages?
• All of the characters are coded in GB (Guo2 Biao1) simplified form. • To maintain the integrity of the characters, all pages were coded by hand in a text editor. If you open a page of Chinese characters in Netscape Composer or another WYSIWYG HTML editor, the coding is converted to another coding form and cannot be interpreted out of Netscape. So don’t try to use Netscape Composer to choose a sample of the vocabulary. • You should be able to highlight sections of the pages with characters and copy them into Notepad or another text editor and still be able to see the characters.
