I have Crohn’s personally, and the two conditions are similar in the restrictions and cautions so I’ll let you know how I deal with it. Diet usualy has to look at how well a food will digest, how easily it can be taken in by the system (how much fuss it causes). The spectrum goes between nuts/seeds and puree foods, with nuts and seeds obviously being some of the harder substances to digest. I’ve dealt with flare-ups on and off, and when I have warning signs (which I’ve learned to recognize by experience) I will ofttimes go on a liquid diet, possibly with an oral (Sea Salt) enema. Liquid diets are easy, you can eat rich soups like potato & leek or carrot soup, with milk and yogurts as well. When not in a crisis state, but just living day-to-day it’s good to keep to foods high in fibre. I’ll often eat lentil soup or use ground flax or hemp seeds in recipes. Also, remember that stress can and will worsen symptoms. Do not underestimate the power of relaxation. Take a bath, do some stretchi
