What type of car racing sport in the UK could i join?
It largely dpends on your budget. I am involved in kart racing, my 15 yr old son races karts. People race karts from 8-50 and there are different classes for each age group. A formula Blue kart for instance typically has a top speed of 70 mph and on some tracks will achieve an average speed of 87 mph. The kart will pull around 2 g’s on cornering and is an exciting sport. Its governing body is the FIA and administered by the Motor Sport Association. A vast majority of professional racing drivers started thier careers in karting and during the sumer ban on F1 testing a number of F1 drivers went back to karting to keep thier driving skills on track. It is relatively easy to start but you will need a licence and have to pass a test.
