What type of cameras will be used in Fife?
At the moment Fife Constabulary operates only mobile speed enforcement cameras. This is normally done from within vans using digital cameras linked to road sensors, tubes or laser speed detectors. They can however be used as freestanding units from the roadside. This system has proved effective in Fife since its introduction in 1994 and it is considered the best option at the moment as it allows us to target whole stretches of road or routes where crashes regularly occur.
