What type of buffer chip do I use for the parallel port adapter?

0

The parallel port adapter is very generic, and will convert all 4 input pins of the game port into inputs on the parallel port. We only need to a buffer chip that has 4 inputs/outputs. Both the 74541 Octal Buffer and the 74367 Hex buffer will work. I used an Octal buffer because its what Jameco had at the time. Sometimes you can find these chips at Radioshack. Note: Sometimes there will be letters in the chip name, usually between the 74 and the rest. Parts numbers like 74H541 are common, and these letters don’t really matter for our purposes.
