What type of activities might indicate discrimination in Rental Housing?
A landlord can set any qualification standards for the rental of their apartment that they choose. Examples include but are not limited to: how much income you make, whether they do a credit check and the quality of your credit record, contacting your previous and current landlord for references, and checking to see if you have a criminal background. These standards are perfectly legal—as long as they are applied to every applicant for rental.
