What type of academic support is available at MMU?
Support tutors work with students to enhance their skills to become independent learners. They support a student in ‘learning, or becoming aware of how they learn best’. Learning styles can vary as follows: Auditory Processing information through verbal instructions or details, or having information read out, or described. Visual Processing information in a visual format such as through images or diagrams. Kinaesthetic Processing information by demonstration and by taking part in practical tasks. Students learning styles may vary, and wherever possible lectures are delivered in a multisensory format, to enable access to students with all/any learning styles.
