I am not much of a tax person but can somebody tell me what the trigger points are that cause AMT tax to kick in. I believe higher income levels play a part but are there other things like large amounts of investment income and high property tax deductions. I tried to read the AMT worksheet but I couldn’t figure out what was really causing me to pay AMT each year.
