What transformers should be used for low voltage lighting applications and are there any special considerations?
A. Buck-boost transformers are ideally suited for handing 12 or 24 Volt low voltage lighting. Although normally field connected as an autotransformer and used for voltage correction, buck-boost transformers can also be used as an isolation transformer to go from 120 or 240 Volts down to 12 and/or 24 Volts.
