What training is provided to CFU members?
CFU Members complete induction training when they first join the program. Members volunteer their time to learn about bushfire behaviour, first aid, test their skills pumping water from a static water supply using a portable pump and practice using fire hoses and hydrants. Ongoing training is carried out each year under the supervision of the NSWFB to ensure members’ skills are up-to-date with current practices.
