What training does a Chiropractic Neurologist receive?
The chiropractic neurologist must complete a specific three-year, 300 hour post-graduate fellowship in the field of neurology. This is the same level of training that the medical neurologists receive with much more emphasis on neurophysiology and functional rehabilitation. In addition, subsequent written, practicum, and oral examinations conducted by the American Chiropractic Neurology Board must be passed to attain active licensure. The ACNB is recognized by the American Chiropractic Association Council on Neurology and is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certification Agencies (NCCA), the accreditation body of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA). All this training is in addition to the basic four-year doctorate training and subsequent passing of National and State Board examinations that all general chiropractors must pass to practice.
