What training do team members receive?
A. After being selected to the team, members are required to attend a one week HazMat school as a prerequisite to attending the 6-week Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville, Alabama. Team members are also required to return to Huntsville every three years for a week long recertification, attend 2 monthly in-service training days, and one one-week training annually. This is in addition to periodic training such as post-blast investigation, threat specific (large vehicle bombs, suicide bombers, etc.) training and explosive related conferences and seminars.
