What topics should be covered in telemedicine training?
Each person on the telemedicine team will need general telemedicine training and then more specialized training pertinent consistent with their respective responsibilities. The breadth and depth of the training depends on the role of the staff within the telemedicine program. As part of a telemedicine program’s development process, specific telemedicine responsibilities should be identified and assigned to new and/or existing positions. A successful training strategy should provide the level of depth that is required for each position. This module includes a skills and knowledge matrix for the most common telemedicine positions. It identifies critical skill and knowledge areas that should be covered in training programs for the common roles in telemedicine programs.
