What Tools Do CSI Techs Use for Forensic Investigation?
Although much of forensic investigation is conducted by using the five senses, CSI techs require certain tools to do their jobs efficiently. These tools are usually provided by the police jurisdiction for which they work, and are often part of a kit that is carried to every crime scene or used in the forensic laboratories. Whatever the case, here are a few of the tools CSI techs use most frequently for forensic investigation. Evidence Bags There are many different sizes of evidence bags that CSI techs use for forensic investigation, and each has a specific purpose. For example, evidence buttons are tiny plastic baggies that are used to store tiny pieces of evidence, such as hairs or fibers. Larger evidence bags may contain weapons, such as guns or knives, or even the clothes of victims. Each type of bag has a label on the outside that is used to record the date, location and time.
