The General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC contains general obligations for producers to keep information necessary for tracing the origin of a product or to display the identity of the producer or details of the production batch on the packaging of the product. The number of RAPEX notifications in which the product was untraceable has decreased in comparison with previous years.
