WHAT TO VISIT IN BOSTON?
Boston Common and the nearby downtown and key districts (Theatre District, Chinatown, Beacon Hill…) are Boston’s heart – a heart surrounded by the wharfs and the harbor on one side, and the Charles River on the other (see Boston’s Map). The best way to visit downtown is to follow the Freedom Trail (self-guided trail, referenced by a line of red bricks in the pavement). It begins on the top North of Boston Common, at the Visitor Information Center, and allows you to visit or see key historic sites as the State House, the Park Street Church, the Old Granary Burying Ground, the King’s Chapel Ground, and so on. It’s largely a trip in Boston and American history. The best way to visit Cambridge University with its Harvard Yard, the Longfellow House and its several museums is to is to get a ride across the Charles river. It’s just some minutes and allows another good view of the city. See map below, to locate Boston main tourist sites and districts: Boston Map BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO MASSAC
