What to say at a funeral wake.. suicide?

I am sorry for you pain. Never say loss, it was not a loss it is a death. You can say something like sorry for your pain due the death of your father. Or simply I am sorry. Most individuals feel a lack of what to say in times such as this “death” and with a suicide it is much more difficult. However, it is not what you say but simply your presence that is necessary and appreciated. Most “family, friends” will not remember what you said, but how you made them feel. So just being present and offering a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear is quite sufficient.

Sorry for your loss. I just don’t have a clue, what you could say. Take care.

Well, sometimes the best thing to do is say nothing. You don’t want to say something you’ll want to immediately take back, so maybe a warm hug? Maybe one thing you’ll want to say to your friend is that you’ll be there for them if they need you. Give them a comforting smile, a warm glow, and maybe hang out with your friend more to watch them and make sure they don’t fall. The last thing you’d want is your friend to retreat to drug-use and/or suicidal actions as well.
