go to a good breeder and you dont have to worry , get one from a pet shop they are most likely puppy farmed in europe and will have a wealth of health and behavioural problems, all puppies have great personality be responsible and make sure you get one in good health from a registerd breeder.

In getting a puppy I would look for one that is not shy or fearful, or is not bold and pushy. One that doesn’t mind being picked up and turned over. Makes eye contact for short time and looks away. Ougoing and friendly. This would not be breed specific, but for any breed. ADD: Of course I would look for a reputable breeder first. One who has champion titles on both the dam and sire. Who does all the health testing required for the breed. And who does not have very many “breeders”. Who keeps their dogs as pets, and not in kennels, such as in puppy mills. I was only answering what I would look for in the personality of the pup I was going to choose from a reputable breeder…..

Look for a good breeder. Goldens are such popular dogs that over breeding has created health issues within the breed. Make sure you know the health history of the dog’s lineage. Get a health guarantee from the breeder. Personality wise, not the shy pup. A social little one is often a good sign.

go to a reputable breeder is the most important thing where possible ask to see the parents or parent this will give you a good guide on your dogs size and temperament any reputable breeder will not hesitate in letting you see the parent(s). Also I think a lot of a puppies personality is due to us!!! and how we raise them puppy training and socialising is so important in shaping your puppy to become a well adjusted dog. When I went for my pup I looked for one who would greet you was active and inquisitive!
