What to learn…… electric guitar or bass guitar?
As a drummer turned bass player now learning normal guitar I can say one thing. There’s a bit of a shortage of bass players out there. Become a half decent bass player and you can be guaranteed work. If you want to be in the spotlight and get all the attention then go lead guitar for sure. But if you would rather become an integral foundation to the rhythm section and be pretty much under-appreciated then go bass. In my opinion bass players have a little more freedom musicly. Sure you don’t get to solo much but you can come up with your own way of supporting each chord.
