If you have been using a mono amine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), you should not take Sertraline until you have stopped using the MAOI for at least 14 days. Failure to do this could result in life threatening side effects from occurring. Sertraline like all SSRI antidepressants could bleed in the stomach if combined with other medication such as NSAIDS. Sertraline could cause problems in newborn babies if taken by pregnant women so should not be taken unless advised by your doctor.
