What to get Mom for her birthday?
By the way, where’s Tandi? I wanted to get her input on this as well.” “She’s not coming,” Tommy said. “Why not?” Tommy and Tyler looked at each other. “Ask Tyler.” Tommy said. “Tyler?” Trent was not exactly sure what kind of answer he was going to get. He knew Tandi had been rather excited about the whole birthday party thing last week. “She just told me she wasn’t coming, that’s all.” “Well, I guess I’ll just talk to her later.” Trent looked at his two younger brothers and smiled. “Since we are here, anybody feel like working out with me? I’ve got one for you—treat her like a star, Oprah-style, by taking her to the Grand Wailea on Maui. The talk-show queen brought her employees here to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and now I know why. The resort sits right on Wailea Beach with views of Lanai and the sunset—very romantic (hint). My suite is so big I could have parked my Civic in the shower. Mom can Zen out in the Spa Grande, a huge place with a dome that makes you feel like you’re lounging in St. Paul’s Cathedral. The Grand Wailea Shops and the nearby Shops at Wailea are filled with fabulous art and jewelry (hint). I ate at Humuhumunukunukuapua‘a, the seafood restaurant. Don’t worry, you can call it just Humuhumu. It’s set over a lagoon filled with tropical fish. I just hope that’s not where they get the nightly special.
