What to feed 3week old orphan kittens?
First off, I would keep the kitten inside until she has had her shots a six weeks old. There are several viruses that live in the ground and she could catch one and be very ill. Parvo is the worst, and it is often times fatal. I don’t know if you have big grocery stores in Egypt, but if not you can get the product on the internet. You need to get a milk replacement for puppies and kittens. You can even use FRESH cow’s milk. Processed milk is not good for kittens because it doesn’t have the immunity of the mother left in it. Keeping her warm is tantamount, and at this point, you should be starting her on soft kitten food mixed with formula. This will continue to give her the nutrients she needs as well as encouraging her to eat soft food. After another week or two add in some hard food and let it soak to make it a bit mushy before letting her have it. By the time she is 8-10 weeks old she should be on regular cat food.
I would try and get a milk supplement from the petshop or vets practice. Then syringe feed her every couple of hours. I would keep her indoors if you can keep her warm but not to hot. Then I would try and wean kitten onto a good kitten food perhaps mixing some of the milk in. Do not give cows milk as most cats are lactase intolerant and cannot digest it properly.
If you cannot get kitten replacement forumula at a store, you can make your own – but the commercial products are better than any homemade formula. Here is a Google search on: raising kittens formula recipe http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&num=5… One of those recipes may be better than what you are currently feeding her.
