What to expect after turbinate and septoplasty surgery?
I just had both of these surgeries done on Thursday morning (10 o’clock). I was out of surgery & recovery by 1:00. After the surgery I was awake & alert. I had a crazy gauze contraption that went under my nose like a mustache and hooked behind my ears. The gauze would get completely soaked in about 45 minutes to an hour, and had to be changed. I slept on & off for the rest of the day and made sure to drink plenty of gatorade and water. I ate soft foods and slept in a recliner. Thursday night I began flushing out my nose with saline. You can’t do this too much. It is very gross, and kind of weird, but it feels good to keep the inside of your nose wet and clean. Friday was pretty good. Pretty much feeling good, rested in recliner and napped a lot. Saturday I started feeling some burning inside my nose, and my face & head felt like I had been hit in the face with a baseball bat.
