what to eat before running a race.
Don’t bother loading up on carbohydrates for anything less than a 10 mile race. Try different meals during training, nothing new on race day. I usually eat peanut butter and honey on wheat bread about 1 hour before a race and a double espresso 1/2 hour before. It’s a good mix of sugar and protein for a 10K trail race with some caffeine to jump start it.
