What to do in Lux on a rainy day with fam. from DK (don suggest cinema, as the kids are too small to understand foreign languages)?
Butterfly garden in Gravenmacher is good for 2 hours- all kinds of tropical butterflies plus stick insects, lizards and a chameleon. I’ve been there and it’s good. I haven’t been to the mining museum (which I think is in Rumelange) but you get to go down an old mine shaft. I haven’t been but it sounds interesting. The Mine museum was interesting, but the guided tour gets a bit boring for kids, as they talk way too long about the work methods… Natural history museum in the grund (on the river, just down from Scotts) is airy and modern and will keep you amused for 2 hours. Stuffed animals like ant-eaters, fossils, an interesting thing on stars and planets… There’s also the “Inccubi|Succubi” Exhibit @ the National Museum. They also have activities related to the exhibit for kids! Also along the river are all the vineyards. Get to see what “method champenoise” means as they give you a tour of the cellars. I went to the St Martin one in Remich and it was ok. combine that with the Graven
