In case of a medical emergency in a big Thai city, know that the health services are very well organized and outstanding and that the taking care of the foreigners is unfailing (at least they speak English). You have to ask to be brought to the nearer big hospital (Mc Cornick Hospital in Chiang Mai, Overbrook Hospital in Chiang Rai, Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, read the article ‘A running well organization’). The emergency services work 24h/24h.
