What to do about dead beat dad showing up?
My daugther’s father is a deat beat. She is 8 and 6 months ago he started calling asking to see our daughter after 2 years of being missing. This whole time and even now he is not paying child support. My new husband has been raising her and we are happy, but his appearance is causing a rift.I’ve always left the door open for her to see her dad but the last time he did this he promised to be there, bonded with her for about 3 months and dissappeared on her birthday. No calls or anything until now. I vowed not to fall for this again. My husband hates this and is resenting me opening the door again. This time, I am not going to be so naive. Knowing in the back of my mind that her father will probably leave again, I’m making sure that he knows I’m not comfortable with him dropping back in our lives as if nothing ever happened without showing true change.
