Bring ONLY what you’ve worn in the past two months (or would have worn, if it were in season). The only exception to that if perhaps a nice, dressy outfit. Those cute boots you got last year that you’ve worn three times? Don’t bring ’em. If you didn’t wear it at home in North America, you won’t wear it abroad. Don’t pack things like photo albums, stuffed animals, sentimental items unless they are SUPER important to you. You can live without that ceramic cat your little cousin made you. Don’t take anything that’s not in perfect condition (except mayyybe a couple old t-shirts for PJ shirts). Also, remember it gets cold (maybe this is really obvious but I went to Italy when I was 14 and it hadn’t occurred to me it would be just as cold as at home). You’ll probably fit in better if you wear take a coat (black is always safe), not a ski jacket like we often wear in N.A. Now pack your suitcase, then take out 1/4. Maybe even 1/2. They don’t dress so differently in Europe than here. It IS diff
