What timeout options are available for connections in the JDBC 2.0 connection pool?

0

The following connection pool timeout properties can be configured for a JDBC 2.0 datasource: • busyTimeout – applies to busy connections obtained from the pool, used to release a connection that has been acquired for an excessive period of time • refreshFrequency – applies to idle connections present in the pool, used to determine if a connection is still valid • idleTimeout – applies to idle connections present in the pool, used to release a connection that is not being used and therefore not required by the pool • waitTimeout – applies to requests for a new connection when no free connection is available in the pool, the request waits until a connection returns to the pool With the exception of waitTimeout, these properties are managed in a background thread. Most of the time this thread is idle but at regular control intervals it examines connections for busyTimeout, refreshFrequency and idleTimeout expirations. The time between control intervals is determined by JVM system propert
