What time will school start and dismiss at Liberty?
The doors will open at 7:15 am. Instruction will officially start at 7:45 am. Students who arrive after 7:45 am will be considered tardy. Dismissal will begin at 2:35. Why are classrooms/grades combined (K/1, 2/3) Our school believes in multi-age classrooms which is why K/1 and 2/3 classrooms are combined. This allows us to better teach students at their academic level by grouping students. Different teams teach different ways. Your child will more than likely start in their homeroom in the morning and throughout the day, switch classrooms among that team. For example, if their homeroom teacher is Mrs. Goins, your child may have her for literacy/reading instruction, Mrs. Smith for writing, and Mrs. Hurst for math. There are many benefits to multi-age classrooms because if you have a student who is working on a 3rd grade level, but is only in 2nd grade, they can work ahead.
