It only has 7 inspections lanes at the border stations on both sides so it usually takes longer to get through all the traffic, and a lot of people take that because they expect it to be faster as it’s in a more isolated area but it usually ends up being longer. The Rainbow Bridge can be faster depending on the time of day, it has 18 lanes into the US and 15 into Canada. The travelers who plan on using the highways to other places don’t use it since it’s not connected to any major highway, so most of the travelers on it are tourists traveling between Niagara Falls, ON and Niagara Falls, NY. The busiest time on the Rainbow Bridge is usually during the afternoon, especially on a weekend. It’s usually quiet after 5 pm, and quiet in the early morning.
