“Night” begins at 5:00 p.m., when the career or limited staff person in charge of the unit leaves work. The Night/Weekend Supervisor shift begins at 5:00 p.m. or later. During this Night/Weekend Supervisor shift, the responsibilities for supervision of the facility shifts to the student who is expected to oversee the unit, handle any emergencies that arise, and in some cases turn off the lights and lock the facility, due to the absence of regular staff.
