The teachers determine the schedules for each retreat, but in general, they are as follows: The day usually starts around 5.30 or 6 am with a morning meditation and/or movement before breakfast. After breakfast and throughout the rest of the day, there will be alternating periods of sitting and walking meditations, possibly interspersed with some guided movement. Instructions will be given for sitting, walking and eating meditations. Meals are eaten in meditative silence, and every retreatant participates in work meditation sometime during the day, either in the kitchen or with housekeeping.
