As someone before said, the 13 stripes represent the 13 original colonies, and the 50 stars represent the 50 states. Our flag DOES represent freedom, opportunity and rights as citizens. I despair when I see posts that state someone is ashamed of our flag. Brave men and women have fought and died for our freedoms, and everyone should respect that and the flag that represents our wonderful country. If someone is ashamed to be an American, I suggest they move to another country. They will soon find out they made a poor choice.
