What the hell is in the popcorn butter?
Coconut oil. It’s not butter nor is it even close to butter. It’s a combination of chemicals that give it the consistency and look of melted butter, but in reality is mostly coconut oil. Some theatres use peanut oil, so if you are allergic to nuts and want to sue them, ask for butter and pretend you had no idea that peanut oil was being used in it. Hell, most of the candies can kill anyone with peanut allergies. Incidentally, the topping we use is the same oil we use to pop the popcorn, only with a mysterious chemical that allows it to stay liquid at room temperature. If I remember the label correctly, I think its Beta Carotene. The oil used for popping turns into a block of fat at room temp.
