For those of you with a cell phone, global roaming rates can be horrendous so we recommend using a prepaid SIM card or a calling card when travelling in New Zealand. Vodafone, one of our biggest mobile phone providers, has branches all around the country including airport stores. You can purchase a SIM card for $35NZD (including $5NZD phone credit) at any Vodafone outlet or rent one for $2.50NZD per day. For those of you who don’t have a cell phone, there are a number of phone booths dotted around the country so you can still stay in touch with your loved ones. Please click here to for more information about calling cards.
