What the difference between Omega-3 and Omega-6?

0

Omega-3(EPA/DHA) and Omega-6(linoleic acid) are both essential fatty acids that are required in your diet. However, because omega-6’s are the predominate fats in common vegetable oils (soy, corn, peanut, etc.), almost everyone consumes way more omega-6 then they need. On the other hand, almost everyone consumes way less of the omega-3(EPA/DHA) then is recommended. This over consumption of omega-6 is thought to lead to excess inflammation contributing to heart disease.
