What the current thinking is about managing large scale organizational change?
This was selected as Best Answer James, I have participated in several large scale organizational changes Management must: 1) Make it very clear what are the new structures, responsibilities and authorities. This must be clear and unambiguous. 2) Since many people are changing the scope and responsibilities of their job, implementing change management to assist this transition is essential. 3) Here comes the hard part, there will be new people added while senior people have to be let go. This will cause a major dip in enthusiasm. 4) The reason for the change must be communicated and understood to all members of the organization. 5) An easy open method of conflict resolution must be set up. I never used a book. Many are written by people who never had to manage changes. I asked other executives who went through the same sort of change.
