What textbooks will be required?
Fire Inspector: Each student will be required to provide his/her own textbook. The only required text for this course will be, IFSTA, Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement, 6th ed. Usually firefighters can locate a copy of this text around their fire stations for use. If however they need to purchase one, fire departments usually have a source for their IFSTA manuals. However, if not you can always locate IFSTA manuals through the State Firemen and Fire Marshals Association web site. Their site is www.sffma.org and this text is listed as item number 36051 with a price of $30 for non members and $26 for members. Fire Investigator: Each student will be required to provide his/her own textbook. The only required text for this course will be NFPA 921, 2001 edition. It is important that the 2001 edition of this text be obtained.
