What tests should schools use in 2002 to measure progress in Year 7 and Year 8?

We hope schools will continue to use the Year 7 and Year 8 optional tests to measure pupils progress over these two years. For pupils who start secondary school below the expected level for their age (Level 4), the Year 7 progress test will still be available next year. Key Stage 3 Pilot Schools and other schools will have the chance to take part in trialling a new year 7 test (see below).
