What temperature is too cold to take a puppy outside for housetraining?
It has been -20F here for the last week…(thats without the windchill). We have a four month old boxer and they are not a breed for extreme cold or heat for that matter. He has been fine with going outside to go to the bathroom. I go out with him and he actually is very quick about it because it is so cold. As long as you are fast about it there should be no problem. If he doesn’t go within 4-5 minutes I would bring him in and wait about 10 minutes and try again. I actually think that the cold helps with potty training a dog because they really don’t want to be outside too long. Good luck!
