What temperature does grass need to germinate?
Generally most grasses will germinate in sustained soil temperatures above 10 degrees C Question: Hi there,if i use peat as part of my top dress mix will that help keep worms away as it will be increasing acidity?Is there a certain month during autumn/winter you can top dress up to or can you light top dress throughout as long as its mild enough?Which of your BSH fertiliser’s do i need for velvet bent during spring/summer?,and how often do i need to feed.With other types of grass ive fed every 6 weeks but velvet’s a little different.Thank you. Answer: It would take a considerable amount of peat top dressing to sustantially change the acidity and to be effective. It really needs to be incorporated into the soil profile. Best way is to apply iron sulphate once the grass is mature in the Spring For fertilise, apply the our Floranid Eagle slow release fertiliser. Its not on the site yet, but will be for the spring. This will give you a controlled feed for 2-4 months depending on the weathe
