What technology is used to publish the OpenLearn website?

The main technology for the site is Moodle. This is an open source course management system designed to create online learning communities. The main learning content delivered through OpenLearn is held in an XML format which is rendered out to the site as html. Alongside the content is a range of tools which have been developed inhouse using various technologies which are more fully described in their respective areas.
