What techniques are used in Mary Shelleys Frankenstein?

The double framed narrative is one technique, but within that is also a biased narrator. Also the story is told “in media res” which means to enter in the middle. Although when we enter Frankenstein’s tale it could be more properly said that we enter at the end, much like in Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. The “in media res” technique allows the author to have their characters recount their stories in flashback as it were. Meaning that we are already aware of certain events and the narrator (Frankenstein in this instance) can drop several ominous hints about what has happened before we reach these points in his story, thus increasing the dramatic tension within the novel. I loved this book, it truly becomes a work of art when read with a feminist perspective. I hope this helps.
